Amazon India Fashion Week AW17: Day 2

After an amazing Day 1, I was immensely excited for Day 2 since the designers line up for the day, pretty much had my favourites!
For this day, I decided to pick the embroidered trend wherein I paired an oversized shirt (with embroidery detailing) alongwith a lace skirt. The catch here is that I layered the skirt beneath the shirt (somewhere on the lines of what I did with my slip dress - HEREwhich gave it an illusion of being a shirt dress with lace around the hem!  Added gold details to this monotone look with a sling and floral flat mules! I did a minor DIY trick with the sling by pasting an elephant patch on it and tadaa.. I had a revamped version!  Kept it minimal with no jewellery, per se! For hair I did a sleek low ponytail, with pink hue on the lips. OUTFIT DETAILS

Amazon India Fashion Week AW17: Day 1

Finally, beginning with the most delayed series of my Amazon India Fashion Week outfits! While last time I decided to stick to the 'India Modern' theme, this time I had made my mind to sport looks that are an amalgamation of trends that have rocked in recent past while keeping it minimal & elegant!
At fashion weeks, we get to see alot of influencers going out of the way to create looks that are nowhere near to their personal style, for reasons best known to them! But the outfits that I wore are something that you'd definitely see me wearing otherwise as well. I had created a look with an oversized pantsuit for AIFWAW17 in my head but after literally going crazy looking out for it, all I got was disappointment because there were hardly any brands offering the same! That is when my really close friend Charuta came to rescue & I borrowed this piece from her. Yes, you can wear borrowed stuff to fashion week! Remember? There are no rules to fashion!
I paired this metallic…

I believe a lot amongst us must be thoroughly updated about the latest international trends be it the corset belt, metallic skirt or patch work denim, but when it comes to terms like Kalamkari, Patola and more, many of us are left perplexed!
I nowhere mean to enforce that one has know about Indian handicrafts, it, obviously, is an individual's choice but according to me the beauty that these products exhibit cannot be surpassed by anything around the world!
I, myself, was not always inclined towards ethnic wear let alone having knowledge about crafts of India, but with passing years watching my mother draping her ethereal Bandhni saree or hunting an ideal block print kurta at emporiums made me fall in love with it. I have made sure that my wardrobe is a balanced with best of both international & Indian outfits.  Coming to this look, I picked this gorgeous cotton Angrakha anarkali suit paired with pure Chanderi dupatta with block-print detailing on it as well as on the pants. One Slip Dress, Six Ways [PART 3]

For the last part, I decided to create looks using statement pieces to either lift up the slip dress or to complete revamp the way it is generally perceived to be! A statement piece not only exhibits your sense of style, but it also takes the look from plain to noteworthy.

For this look, I picked this heavenly beautiful hand-painted Denim jacket & layered it over the slip. Added a pair of combat boots & a cap to give a sporty meets grunge kind of vibe to the attire. This look has a certain edginess to it which defies the notion of a slip dress being just glamorous & fancy! While the denim jacket dressed it down, the hand-painted part made the attire stand out from the crowd. OUTFIT DETAILS Jacket - Adagio | Boots - Forever 21
Here I put together my love for dresses & pants & made the slip dress end up looking like a tunic by pairing it with this floral piece. To give the dress a halter kind of appearance, I pinned the straps at the back.  If your slip dress is textured or…

One Slip Dress, Six Ways [PART 2]

In continuation to the last post, the second part of the Slip Dress series feature looks that a more casual, easy & effortless, basically laidback dressing! While this 90s style is considered to be slinky & attractive, my intention was to create looks that are apt for your everyday dressing list.
While I am seeing influencers & many from the fashion industry pairing a slip dress with a white tee, I decided to layer it over a black one! You can also opt for a striped tee to add a pattern to your look. Also added a faux leather choker, glasses & a pair of sneakers for my casual hopping throughout the day!

This look is more of a low-key or lazy attire & possibly the most convenient way to sport a slip in public if you are not confident to do it otherwise.
Tucked into a pair of joggers & layered with a lightweight bomber, to easily dress it down.
A sleek pony as the hairdo & furry sliders to keep this look relaxed &…
