Silver Lining

Every time I go through my old posts I realise that despite being an Indian Blogger the number of outfit posts featuring ethnic or fusion wear are way less than the western looks! Considering that a lot of my readers, and for a fact me too, prefer outfits with an amalgamated taste of both traditional and modern, I have decided to up the number of Ethnic Wear blog posts, but with my own spin to it.

I always like blending the Indian aesthetic with the international when it comes to dressing up in a traditional outfit. For instance, while deciding this look I was adamant of picking an Anarkali but with a contemporary touch to it. So the whole combination of gota patti work, high neck detailing & the flare fit the bill.

Coming to today's outfit, a saree may not be a part of my everyday wardrobe but every now and then, be it festivities or weddings, I get in touch with my roots and sport it, but with a twist. Here I picked a beautiful pink Bandhni saree, with lotus motifs & intricate pearl detailing at the border. Taking the unconventional route, I paired it with a turtle neck crop top to give a modern touch to the overall attire!

You know that I am a sucker for silver jewellery (inherited that from my mom), and when I came across these tribal pieces I knew I have to lay my hands on these. And this neckpiece, earrings & bangle absolutely complimented the whole fusion look. For hair, I did a low bun and added marigold flowers to it. Since it was day event, I kept the make-up subtle with soft pink lips & copper eyes.
